Holiday Banquet 2015 Review

_DSC8594On December 15, 2015, sixty-five SLA students made their way to the International (the building I described in my previous article) for the Holiday Banquet. Some took cars, others the bus, some limos.

The banquet was to start around six, and most students arrived on time. The students were welcomed by the SA leaders and a student photographer who were ready to catch their arrival on camera.

For a half hour the students socialized before the food was ready. The students sat down with their dates or friends and ate the delicious foods such as salad, lasagna, and mac ‘n’ cheese.  For desert the attendees enjoyed a special International specialty which had vanilla ice-cream,  a chocolate shell, caramel, strawberries, etc..

After the students ate the fun began and several activities were held such as the not-so-newliwed-newliwed game. Two students that either attended together would sit back to back and would have to answer questions about each other such as what their favorite color was, or their favorite movie actor, and other questions as such. Three rounds of this game were held.

After the games were finished, awards were passed out to the couples/friends who won, and other awards were passed out to some for talents such as violin playing, drawing, and determination. Those who received the awards were surprised and touched by the awards.

Overall, the Holiday Banquet of 2015 was a huge success as those who attended had a fantastic time. DeAnna Brown, the president of the Student Association along with her team did a great job pulling everything together. We applaud you SA for your work! Thank you for making this year’s banquet as exciting as it was!

Have you ever attended a Holiday Banquet, either for school or work? What sort of games were hosted? Please share in the comments below!

About Sabrina N. Mapes

There are only so many people who can say they're fans of pirates, superheroes, and violin pop; I am one of them. Some would describe me as spontaneous, others a spazz, and some a caffeine addict... that last one is no longer true.
