Album Review: Majestic by Kari Jobe
The new album, Majestic, by popular Christian artist Kari Jobe was released on March 25, 2014. There is also a deluxe edition that includes a DVD with live performances of each track. The album was recorded at Majestic Theatre in Dallas, Texas.
In a recent interview, Kari Jobe talked about her new album, saying, “I am so excited about my new album Majestic. My passion in life is to lead worship and help people to connect to the presence of God. Worship changes the atmosphere of our lives and makes us more aware of His presence at work in and through us. I can not wait for people to connect with these new songs and fill the earth with more worship to our Majestic King.”
Several other Christian artists co-wrote the songs on the album Majestic, such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, and Brian Johnson. Forever is the title of the first single on this album. It’s definitely one of the best tracks on this album. Forever is a great worship song and it highlights the fact that God’s love lasts forever. God’s love is a theme throughout the album. It’s included in the message of other songs such as “Only Your Love,” and “Always Enough.” These songs emphasize the truth that we need to praise God for his unending love.
Kari Jobe also sings a lot about trusting in Jesus no matter what happens. “Look Upon the Lord” and “I Am Not Alone,” are inspirational songs about how God can get us through anything. These two tracks have outstanding lyrics. “Look Upon the Lord” is a slower, more serious song and contains the words “You are good and your mercy will endure,” which is derived from Psalms 100:5. “I Am Not Alone” is a powerful and emotional song as well. Some of its best lyrics are “In the midst of deep sorrow, I see your light is breaking through,” and “Lord you fight my every battle, I will not fear.”
The majority of the songs on Majestic are slower and more serious songs, but it’s still an interesting album because of its creative and relevant lyrics. Overall, is a great album full of uplifting worship tunes. It is very encouraging and will inspire people to praise Jesus.
