Valentines Day: SLA Couples!

Valentines is almost here, and it’s a time when people get to express love to one another in many different ways. Student couples here at South Lancaster Academy got to give us a little bit of background of their relationship!

Nick Morin and Edyn-Mae Stevenson: Both sophomores

When and where did you guys meet?: “At pathfinders, we were both in 6th grade.”

What was your first impression of each other?: 

Nick: “I thought she had really pretty eyes.”

Edyn-Mae: “I didn’t like him because I thought he was someone else I knew, and that guy wasn’t very nice.”

How long have you two been dating?: “About three years.”

What’s your favorite thing about each other?: 

Nick: “I love her eyes.”

Edyn-Mae: “Probably his laugh.”

How did you find out you liked each other?: 

Nick: “My little cousin snitched on me and told her and then Sabrina (their friend) told me that Edyn-Mae liked me.”

Jorge Huerfano and Cassie Fuller: Both juniors

When and where did you guys meet?: “We met at school in 8th grade.”

What was your first impression of each other?:

Jorge: “I thought she was really smart and talented.”

Cassie: “I thought he was annoying.”

How long have you two been dating?: “It will be two months on Valentines Day.”

What’s your favorite thing about each other?: 

Jorge: “I love her smile.”

Cassie: “I love that he is empathetic and kind.”

How did you find out you liked each other?: 

Jorge: “I told her after a soccer game that I liked her.”

Cassie: “And I told him that night.”

Alex Castro and Lisa Gifford: Both juniors

When and where did you guys meet?: “At Alena’s house, and we were both in 8th grade.”

What was your first impression of each other?: 

Alex: “She was always happy.”

Lisa: “He seemed like he didn’t take anything seriously.”

How long have you two been dating?: “A month.”

What’s your favorite thing about each other?: 

Alex: “Her eyes and smile.”

Lisa: “He is kind of like my reality check.”

How did you find out you liked each other?: 

Lisa: “We hung out at his family’s house, and he walked me out to my car and we both confessed it.”

Brenda Castro and Rafael Menezes: Both juniors

When and where did you guys meet?: “In school , freshman year.”

What was your first impression of each other?: 

Brenda: “I thought he was cute and he had nice eyes.”

Rafael: “I thought she was pretty, and I liked her eyes.”

How long have you two been dating?: “Two years and four months.”

What’s your favorite thing about each other?: 

Brenda: “Just the silly things he does, like he thinks he’s a know-it-all sometimes.”

Rafael: “How can she be a drama queen sometimes.”

How did you find out you liked each other?: “Our friends told us.”

Isaac Valera and Natalia Perez: Both seniors

When and where did you guys meet?: “7th grade at school.”

What was your first impression of each other?: 

Isaac: “I honestly can’t remember… The first time I technically saw her we were little kids and didn’t know each other. When she came to SLA I was just a seventh grader focused on nothing but having fun and pulling pranks at the expense of the girls in my class and Natalia. Yeah, I never knew two years from then I’d be dating her.”

Natalia: “I thought he was cool, and I wanted to be his friend.”

How long have you two been dating?: “Two years.”

What’s your favorite thing about each other?:

Isaac: “That I can be with her for hours and not feel like I have to say anything at all. Just being with her is the highlight of my day.”

Natalia: “I like that he’s lively and confident. He just spices up life.”

How did you find out you liked each other?: 

Natalia: “He asked me to be his girlfriend and I was like WOAH he likes me! And I already liked him back.”

This Valentine’s Day, show someone you really care and admirer how much they mean to you, it can brighten up their day. Just presenting your affection to someone can not only make them happy but yourself as well. Comment what your plans are for this Valentines Day!
