Are Super Bowl Halftime Shows “Staged”?

On Sunday , February 2 , the Denver Broncos faced off against the Washington Seahawks.  During halftime , like always, a celebrity comes out and gives a performance.  This year Bruno Mars was performing , it was the most watched halftime show in history. He gave a phenomenal performance and had the crowd going wild. Bruno preformed his hit songs : “Locked Out of Heaven” , “Treasure”, and finished it all off with “Just the Way You Are.”   In the middle of the performance the Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage with Bruno.

While the Red Hot Chili Peppers were on stage , if you looked closely, you could see that the bassist guitar was not plugged into an amp. This has caused a lot of disappointment amongst fans .Most people did not know that these performances are not live. No instruments are actually being played during the show. Some fans feel like it’s a betrays them. They want to see them actually playing for them . Bruno Mars was in fact actually signing; that is a newly allowed thing.

I do not think that these Halftime Shows should be staged. It takes away from seeing the real ability of the artist. It was nice to see Bruno get to sing live, but the rest of the performance should be as well, flaws and all!

Do you think the Super Bowl musical performances should be broadcast completely live? Or do you like having the perfect “staged” version? Let us know in a comment below.
