A New Year: A New Day

“Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22,23

It’s a little over a week into the new year, and being human, we all hope for the same thing: for this year to be different – to be better. Every person, whether knowingly or not, has walked into 2014 with a new purpose, goal, mindset, and perspective; whether they be positive or negative.

Some of us have started our list of resolutions, potentially already having gone off track. Maybe you are part of the group that finds resolutions pointless and unproductive. You could even be part of the people that have lost all hope and can’t escape from the never-ending black hole of life’s corruption. Perhaps you are the exact opposite and can’t imagine how life can be any better. All of us have one thing in common, we’re looking into the future.

The future is what we put our main focus on. “This year I’ll have better grades.” “One day I will be happy again.”One day hopefully my problems will go away.” What about today? How are you living today? Defeated? Tomorrow I can guarantee you’ll feel the same way. Determine your destiny today.

God’s grace is new every single morning. “Oh, I’ll accept His grace tomorrow” What about if you don’t have tomorrow? Honestly, who even knows if we have the rest of today. Our present is the only certainty we have. Life, this year, it’s out of our control, but how can we make today different? better? happier? You fill in the blank.

Leave a comment and tell the Pioneer how you filled in the blank!
