SLA Crusaders Volleyball Senior-Night

The Lady Crusaders volleyball team has been long awaiting their Senior Night as 4 Lady Crusaders say their farewell to the beloved court one last time. DSC_0007

Senior night is when a team has their last home game of the season and they pay a ‘tribute’ to all of their seniors on their team. Giving them flowers and saying a few special words about them . Their parents can come out on the court and take pictures with them and congratulate them on their accomplishment and being apart of the team.

Those four Seniors are Sharisse Rivas, Allura Milliron, Roxanne Bruso, Amanda Bakerlis. Allura Milliron was the one with the who had been with the team the longest, 3 years ,who also served as captain for two years. Then follows Sharisse with 2 years of experience and  Roxanne and Amanda joining the team this year. Even with little experience they still contributed so much to the team.DSC_0019

Many of the players, not just the seniors, were excited as the end of the season became to a sad but memorable game. They ended up winning that game against their rivals, Greater Boston Academy (GBA) . They played that team back to back on the next day, and ended winning both games.DSC_0002

Some of the players were very  emotional as the scoreboard  changed to 25. They knew it was their last time with the same group of players and their last game on their home court.’

Roxanne Bruso – ” It was so worth it to play . I got to make new friends with people on the team that I usually wouldn’t talk to otherwise. Plus, it was also so nice to be apart of a team.”

Amanda Bakerlis – ”  It was a loDSC_0020t of fun playing and I feel like I really progressed my skills  from when I first started at the beginning.”

Allura Milliron – ” I loved playing with all these girls. I’m going to miss playing with them  so much ! Its gonna be sad for me not playing with them anymore, but I wish them all  the best of luck. I feel like this was a great season with them, if they keep practicing they  can go far in their next season.”

I’m sure the team will greatly miss their Seniors and we wish them the best of luck as  they continue on this year.
