Contagious Happiness in a Single Sound
“Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.” Psalms 126:2
Laughter, an “expression of mirth, pleasure, derision or nervousness with an audible, vocal expulsion of air from the lungs that can range from a loud burst of sound to a series of quiet chuckles.” (Dictionary.com). Not only is laughter good in the moment it benefits the body physically, mentally, and socially. The average person laughs 15 times a day. Advantages range from preventing heart disease to unthinkable memories. It’s humorous in itself to think such a funny noise can benefit our life such an incredible amount.
Did you know that laughter reinforces your immune system, improves your blood, diminishes pain, and vitalizes your organs? It literally lengthens your life. Laughing off pain isn’t just an expression. Laughing while in pain starts immediately working to remove it. Laughing 100 times is equal to 15 minutes on a bike. Its a form of exercise that builds energy, pumps blood, and keeps organs going.
Finding something humorous can literally eliminate our burdens. Laughter helps our minds by relieving stress, inspiring hopes, and encouraging our spirits. Nothing works faster to bring our mind and body back into balance than a good laugh. Fear can be an overwhelming emotion but laughing helps ease our anxiety; it brings to a level of relaxation. It redirects our attention to the things needed and necessary.
Laughing is contagious. Have you ever met a person that had the funniest laugh you’ve ever heard? And no matter how hard you tried not to, when they laughed you did? Laughter brings people together, builds relationships, and increases happiness. The moment a person laughs people can’t help but smile or even giggle themselves. Laughter actually releases endorphins giving off a positive energy wherever you are. It feels good and makes your day a happier place to be in.
Jesus is like a good laugh. He relieves our stress and pain giving us inspiring hope to fill our lives with. God renews our soul and gives us a deep breath of life every morning. Christ wants our happiness to literally run in the circle around us. Laughter is a gift from God to benefit you and help us see there is more to life than our temporary problem. Find reasons to laugh and live for Christ. God gave us the gift of life let’s make the most of it! Let’s be happy and hopeful and be willing to stop and take a good laugh.
Make laughing your ministry. Send the pioneer a joke, help the news staff take a break and just laugh.
