Teacher Appreciation: A Tribute To Mr. Cook
This Thursday is Teacher Appreciation Day here at South Lancaster Academy so, in honor of that, we here at the Pioneer have decided to write a tribute to each of the main teachers.
Dustan Cook is the physical education teacher at our school and he also teaches basic auto mechanics and health class and has also been the athletic director. Mr. Cook works very hard to teach students about subjects that he is not only knowledgeable of, but also passionate about.
The Pioneer asked some students what theyappreciated about Mr. Cook.
Junior Azalea Warner-Walton, “I like how he’s dedicated and tries his hardest to help us learn the importance of health and fitness.”
Junior Isaac Valera, “When you’re having trouble understanding how to do something right or just anything at all, he’s an easy teacher to approach and ask for help.”
Sophomore Amber Sanchez, “Mr. Cook is an excellent P.E. teacher that is good at planning physical exercises and activities that are beneficial to students.”
When ask how long he had been working here, what he enjoyed about his job, and how working here had helped him grow as a person, Mr. Cook said, “This is my third year working here. I enjoy getting to teach something that I’m excited about. Yes, anytime you work from the people you grow as a person. I’ve learned a lot from my students and coworkers.”
I would personally like to thank Mr. Cook for all that he does. Whether it’s scheduling sporting events, teaching kids how to be healthy, or just being willing to sit down and talk about life, we thank you Mr. Cook and we appreciate you!
