Rajon Rondo’s Historic Assist Streak Lives On

Despite a rough game versus the Detroit Pistons this past Monday, Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo recorded his 34th straight game with ten or more assists. Rondo only trails legendary point guards John Stockton (37) and Magic Johnson (46) for holding the all-time record for games with ten or more assists.

Even before his streak began Rondo had already established himself as one of the best passers in NBA, consistently ranking high in the assists per game category. An assist is when a player passes his teammate the ball and the teammate immediately scores. While being surrounded with talent like all-stars Paul Pierce, Ray Allen, and Kevin Garnett for most of his career certainly helps boost his assist stats, Rondo still posses a special talent for passing the ball.

One of the biggest questions for the Celtics coming into this year was if Rondo could step up as a contributor on the team. Hopefully this impressive streak is a good sign of things to come.
