This year Browning/SLA is welcoming in their new 7th grade teacher, Mrs. Vieira. The SLA Pioneer had the opportunity to sit down and talk to her about her past and what her current thoughts about being here are.

Q. Before joining us here at SLA, where were you employed? What grades were you teaching?
A. ” I was at Cedar Brook. I was the principal for 7 years and I taught Kindergarten and grades 3 and 4.”

Q. Has the Browning/ SLA family made you feel welcome here?
A. ” Yes . Its been wonderful here . Everyone has been very supportive and helpful.”

Q.How does being here differ from you old school?
A. ” Its very different. When I was at Cedar Brook I was their principal . I was more focused on the teachers and not so much the students . Here I am the teacher and all of my focus is on them. Another big difference was the fact that I had a secretary and had help , here I do all the work on my own without that extra help.”

Q. If you decided not to be a teacher , what would you most likely do instead?
A. ” If I wasn’t a teacher  I would probably be a doctor. A pediatrician.”

Q. Do you have any children?
A. ” Yes. I have two daughters.”

Q. What do you like to do when you are not teaching and have free time on your hands?
A. ” I love to watch television ! I also like watching sports , and going out shopping.”

As we can all see Mrs. Vieira has had a lot of changes made to her life by being here. We all know that she is going to do an amazing job here with us this year. Let’s all wish her the best of luck as we progress into the school year.
