Sports Day At South Lancaster Academy
Sports Day for the k-6 graders took place on November 8, 2011. The kids got to spend the entire day playing and learning about sports like soccer, volleyball, wiffle ball, and disk golf. It was a great opportunity for the kids to stay in shape and make new friends.
Sophomore Mitchell Hall said that sports day was “a day to stay active and have fun.”
Several Academy students took part in helping the kids learn about the sports. When asked about his job and how he felt about the event, Junior Josue Reveron said, “I’m helping the children. I’m like a ref. Sports Day is about giving back to the community and it’s a great way to stay in shape. It really touches my heart.”
The kids appeared to have had a great time. “I think they enjoyed it. I think they had fun playing the sports, especially wiffle ball because Josue, Adrian, and I were counselors, and we’re the best!” explained Mitchell when asked about if he thought the kids had fun.
Part of our school’s message is keeping our bodies healthy and strong. Starting these habits at a young age help children keep them when they are older. Hopefully the kids who took part in sports day will continue to stay healthy and have fun!
