Are You Ready?
“You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” Luke 12:40 (NIV)
In all of my life I can think of one near death experience, it was when i went on the Bizarro roller coaster from the six flags in Springfield. I had never ridden a roller coaster in all of my life and I always wanted to ride one, because everyone I knew in school kept telling me how awesome they were. After an extremely long line I was finally able to ride a roller coaster. However i suddenly realized too late that the straps that they used on me barely fit on my legs, and when the cars reached the top of the incline and made their way down I was constantly afraid that the straps would fall off and I would fall off the ride and die, so I hung on to anything that looked stable and prayed to God that I would survive the “Bizarro.”
A few years later, while I was camping with my class, I realized that if I had died that day, would I have been worthy of being saved, was my relationship with Jesus what it should have been, or was there any relationship to begin with. As the verse above said, Jesus will return to the world we do not expect Him, we have no idea when He is coming, so we have to be ready at all times. That experience taught me to pursue a relationship with my Savior before it’s too late, this was something that I couldn’t delay, and it’s not something that you should delay either. Be ready for Jesus, because if you aren’t I’m afraid that you will be left behind when He returns to take us home.
