Is the End of the World Upon Us?

According the US Geological Survey report as of April of 2011, the Earth in the last few years has experienced the most catastrophes ever recorded. The amount of earthquakes which has taken place is astounding. We can see how much damage they have done when you look at the earthquakes that have been in our recent history such as the tsunami in the Far East at the turn of the century, the Chilean earthquake, which followed on the footsteps of the devastating Haiti earthquake, and more recently in Japan. As we look at recent history we realize that Christ’s work in the heavenly sanctuary will end soon, and He will soon return to this Earth.

The tsunami which hit the Japanese coast recently was devastating, not only to the people of Japan but to the entire world, and the after-effects of that disaster was felt in other parts of the world and in Japan. The fact that the world experienced radiation fallout is disconcerting. When we take a closer look at the tornadoes which have ravaged the southeastern section of the U.S. we see that the world is getting to be an unstable place. Looking at the famines and pestilence which have caused the decline of many families, in places all around the world is a forecast of the economic instability that followed 911 and is gaining momentum daily. Our global network is becoming unglued!

In addition to the natural disasters that are taking place daily, one cannot but read the headlines to see that the immorality is also increasing, and it is sure proof that the world is unraveling. The bible clearly states in Matthew 24: 6-7 what will happen in the end times before Jesus returns.  Jesus states that “And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places.”

I believe that it is best said by an old hymn which was written by Ruth Caye Jones: In times like these you need a Savior. In times like these you need an anchor; be very sure, be very sure Your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! This rock is JESUS!
